New Advisory Committee Announced

It is my great pleasure to announce Dr. John Rutledge and Dr. Daniel J. Mitchell have joined our Advisory Committee. Many of you will recognize John from his regular appearances on the Fox Business network while others will know his work as a principal architect of the Reagan economic plan and an adviser to the Bush White House on tax policy. As an expert on tax reform and policy, Dan has been a frequent guest on radio and television and a popular speaker on the lecture circuit. His articles have also been published in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Investor's Business Daily.

Dr. Rutledge is currently the Chairman of Rutledge Capital, a private equity investment firm that has invested more than $150 million in middle market manufacturing, distribution, and service companies. In addition, Dr. Rutledge is a visiting professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chief Advisor for Finance and Investment to the Governor of the Haidian District in Beijing. He is a board member of the Progress and Freedom Foundation, the Heartland Institute, and a senior fellow at the Pacific Research Institute.

Dr. Mitchell is a senior fellow at The Cato Institute and a top expert on tax reform and supply-side tax policy. Prior to joining Cato, Dr. Mitchell was a senior fellow with The Heritage Foundation, and an economist for Senator Bob Packwood and the Senate Finance Committee. He also served on the 1988 Bush/Quayle transition team and was Director of Tax and Budget Policy for Citizens for a Sound Economy.

I am very pleased to have these two distinguished individuals participate on our Advisory Committee. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Rutledge and Dr. Mitchell to the Sound Dollar Committee as we embark on the very important work of promoting fiscal responsibility and strengthening the American economy.
